The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The vet on the other hand is all about the money. Doesn't care about your pet or your circumstances. He will squeeze as much out of you as he can. When you have no more left to spend hes basically done with you. Make sure you check your invoices throughly otherwise you will be paying for things you don't want or need and wasn't informed of beforehand.

We have 3 cats that haven't been to the vet since covid hit. We were a bit stressed about it all but the staff there where so welcoming and accommodating the stress was gone as soon as we walked in. They answered all of our questions with more answers than we expected. Dr. Cheema was so thorough and gave us way more tips and info than previous vets. Pricing seemed very reasonable with no pressure and they gave options. Highly recommend.

We had to rush my dog to this hospital as he was unable to open his eye. Reception was so great and so was Dr. Cheema. He provides explanations and answers to any questions that we have. We had asked Reception to email us the medical notes from the doctor and they did it within the timeframe they gave us. We booked our follow up with Dr. Cheema as well. We will most likely continue coming back here to see Dr. Cheema as not only is it convenient, but the staff is great and so is the doctor.

Very friendly, sweet and accommodating front end staff. The doctor is very knowledgeable, honest and kind. I was booked in sooner than expected for an issue with my cat and I was happily surprised to get the blood work/other test results in just half an hour from check in time. I highly recommend this animal hospital and am happy to have a trustworthy vet near my house.

I lost a cat from suspected FIP a few years ago - which was very sudden and devastating, during which Dr. Cheema, explained the condition and provided tremendous emotional support through the whole process. He left the end of life decisions in my hands and clearly walked me through all options regarding cost of care, experimental treatments, and provided expert advise on what was truly in the best interest of my ailing cat. The staff were unbelievably kind and let me take control of the euthanasia process. I probably cried in the back room for over 30-minutes, they didn't pressure me to leave and Dr. Cheema gave me confidence in the decision being in my cat's best interest.Since then I regularly used this clinic since till I moved back home to Edmonton in December. Dr. Cheema provided amazing education regarding managing the health of my cat with renal disease giving her an early diagnosis so we could manage it while she was still young (which can be hard to do in cats) - as well as helped me take my newborn kitten through his spay/neuter surgery. The clinic provides awesome packages for new pet owners or pet owners who welcomed new kittens and puppies into their lives which are quite the deal.Amazing vet - highly recommend.

This is a story you should read before taking your dog to Sage Hill Pet Hospital.I took my St Bernard X to Sage Hill for a simple ear cleaning and treatment. My dog walked in as energetic and happy as he gets with an ear infection and stumbled out a different dog. My first indication that I may have chosen the wrong vet happened when no one was prepared to collect the swab / sample from my dogs ear. I did that. The second indicator should have been when it took 4 people to assess his heart rate. Those 20 anxious seconds pretty much wrapped up the “Nose to Tail” evaluation and check up.I was sold rather expensive surgical scrub and medication and directed to a YouTube video and told that it would show me how to do the procedure. I was tasked with that.So far I have paid a lot of money and have been asked to perform almost all of the work.We could not clean his ears properly at home so we returned to the clinic. Rightly, they refunded $97 for the unused medication. They said they would apply a simple medication to calm him and do the ear rinse and flush. Instead they proceeded to over sedate my poor dog and still needed 3 people to hold him down and flush his ears and put even more expensive meds into his ears. My dog could not get out of the clinic fast enough. For the next 4 days we sat vigil at home believing our dog would die. He didn’t eat for days. He would not take water. He threw up everything he did manage to eat. He could not manage stairs and would stumble and frequently fall over when taken outside.Remember that he walked into the clinic with dirty ears and was otherwise happy and healthy. It was also suggested that I spend over $700 for allergy tests and about $300 for a liver screen…. Blood work…Remember, Ear Infection. What I did do after the vet stopped answering my emails and calls was to go to another vet. This vet was able to handle my dog as if it were her own. Checked his temp, heart rate, teeth and ears without any other help. In other words, she did not need to traumatize my pet.She found that the ears were not cleaned well enough, removed the medication that had been put in, thoroughly cleaned his ears and gave us an antibiotic to clear up the infection. All of this was done without the use of the expensive sedatives that were used at Sage Hill. The Sage Hill clinic has still not followed up to see how my dog is doing. That is pretty unacceptable. I will not return to this vet unless I am picking up a refund and an apology. One Star is too much, there was no other option. On a positive note. The reception staff were very friendly.Unfortunately they were not prepared to handle my normally extremely friendly dog.

Friendly staff. Yhr vet was thorough and explained the treatment/ vaccines given to my dog. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I was asked to leave my dog there by himself for his appointment. I've always been in the room while my pet was being treated. I agreed, and the appointment seemingly went well. It was just weird to show up for a veterinary appointment and be asked to leave my pet there without any prior notice.
